YOUNG and FABULOUS: Wonderkid Mikail Akar is making a colorful statement in contemporary art! The young 10-year old art prodigy just opened the “Unbelievable”exhibition in NYC recently ! With 23 works on canvas and paper shown at Rolf Benz Gallery, I joined fashionable and artsy friends to celebrate the launch in SoHo just a few days ago to check out all this colorful art. This young art prodigy is making big waves, and 10-year old Mikail Akar has already showcased his works at numerous exhibitions worldwide. Mikhail’s colorful work appeals to contemporary art lovers, and draws his inspiration from contemporary artists including Jackson Pollock, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Gerhard Richter.

The MIKAIL AKAR “UNBELIEVABLE” launch was held recently at the Modus10 – Rolf Benz Flagship Store in SoHo, and attracted luminaries from the arts and New York social scene.  Amongst the notable attendees joining Mikail Akar were Francis Tan, Vincent Tam, Carmen D’Alessio, Tina Radziwell, George Wayne, Montgomery Frazier, Minnie Osmena, 0H10 M1KE, Cagri Kanver, Marsin Mog.ielski, Jose Castelo Branco, Sharif Sinclair, Brigitte Segura, Neil, Nadja Sayejm, Jose Loris Diran, Tijana Ibrahimovic, Kerem Akar, Elvan Akar, and Mina Akar.

The Mikail Akar “UNBELIEVABLE” exhibition in New York is at the Modus10 – Rolf Benz Flagship Store until May 31st, 2023. Other current projects for MIKAIL AKAR include an exhibition at the Grand Hotel Schloss in Bensberg, Germany running until May 2023; Mikail also custom painted the hood of a $450,000 Rolls-Royce for a fun project and recently held a live painting session held at the iconic Empire State Building with graffiti artist Luca. Industrious and fun!

About Mikail Akar: Born in 2012 in Cologne, his career began by chance on his fourth birthday his parents with a small canvas and finger paints as an alternative gift to usual toys he already had. Mikail began his prolific artistic journey, and he still paints at his Studio in Cologne, Germany.  His talents were seen in an early painting and his parents fully encouraged him to continue his work. Watching Online video tutorials together Mikail learned certain painting techniques and soon the little artist began to paint nonstop. His intro into the art world launched shortly after when adult artists began to preview his work more. Mikail has held several exhibitions already in cities across Germany, Vienna, Zurich, Istanbul, and New York City.  As a visual artist, Mikail does not want to limit himself to canvases.

As a visual artist, Mikail doesn’t want to limit himself to canvases! He has painted a wreckage part of the Airbus 310 on a project exhibited in Cologne/Bonn Airport. One of his recent collaborations has been with the mineral water brand, Gerolsteiner with the Mikail Akar Artist Edition, where Mikail’s art was printed on more than 17 million water bottles.   The young artist gained notable attention with his work being auctioned for good causes such as the “Art Helps to Give” campaign.  He has also participated in charity events in Turkey to help local people during the earthquake in 2020 with the Civil Protection authority AFAD.

Upcoming projects for the young creator include painting a series of classic cars going on a roadshow in the near future. In addition, he is working to create a 165 ft. (50 meter) long canvas painting for a secret project! Despite his adventures as a creative artist, Mikail Akar is going to school in Cologne with his parents and two siblings.
