Hunt Slonem Brings Bunnies Butterflies and Good Vibes to NYC During NYFW

For the love of bunnies and butterflies! Good vibes were aplenty as Hunt Slonem’s unmistakable universe arrived in TriBeCa during New York Fashion Week. We joined friends Carmen D’Alessio, Patrick McMullan, Jean Shafiroff, Leesa Rowland, Marc Bouwer and Jamie deRoy for an early look at the artist’s colorful new exhibition.

Having come straight from a runway show that evening, I can say the energy in the room was every bit as vibrant and playful as the artwork.

Slonem’s paintings have a wonderful way of pulling you into their own rhythm, with rabbits and butterflies appearing again and again in vivid, dreamlike worlds. Among the standouts were Pink Ascension (2021), a monumental canvas alive with drifting butterflies, and Blue Hutch (2025), featuring a gathering of his instantly recognizable rabbits against a vivid blue ground. It made for a particularly fun NYFW stop!

Art, fashion friends and plenty of positive energy all came together in one room. Slonem describes the exhibition as a dreamlike world of wonder and inspiration, the source of his creativity. Looking around the room, that sense of wonder was certainly contagious.
