Evan Hirsch Does It Again: Glamcycled for a New Generation at NYFW

Evan Hirsch does it again! Upcycled, recycled, and of course, glamcycled! From the treasures of once was to the treasures of now, young designer Evan Hirsch gives beautiful old pieces a completely new occasion. Dresses that once had another life become fashion-forward gowns, jumpsuits, jackets. Looks feel romantic, unexpected, and completely of the moment. There is something wonderful about seeing a piece that may have been forgotten become the star of the runway.

For Spring/Summer 2027, Hirsch brings us on “New Journeys Through Old Memories,” a collection that looks to the past while giving it a distinctly modern point of view. Vintage-inspired silhouettes, beautiful textures, lace, beading, metallic fabrics, and unexpected combinations came together in looks that felt both familiar and completely new. Hirsch has a wonderful ability to see what a garment can become rather than simply what it once was. That creative eye is what makes his work so exciting.

There is a romantic quality to these pieces, but there is also plenty of fashion attitude. A gown can begin with a detail from another era and suddenly feel right for today. A familiar silhouette can be transformed through embellishment, proportion, or silhouette. Hirsch preserves just enough of the original character to make each piece interesting, then takes it somewhere unexpected. The result is a collection filled with individuality, imagination, and plenty of runway appeal.

For this season, Hirsch once again worked with ShopGoodwill.com, sourcing pre-loved garments and vintage finds that became the foundation for his new creations. This is Hirsch’s third collaboration with the organization, but what truly stands out on the runway is his talent for transforming the past into something fresh and desirable. He doesn’t make these pieces feel old. He makes them feel new again. That is where the magic happens, turning garments with a history into something fashionable, unexpected, and completely his own.

“New Journeys Through Old Memories” is ultimately a showcase of what Evan Hirsch does best. He finds beauty where others might overlook it and gives it a new purpose, a new silhouette, and a new moment. The result is fashion that feels divine, romantic, and fashion forward, with every piece carrying a little history while looking firmly toward what comes next.
