27th on Sale Turns FIT Into NYC’s Ultimate Fashion Closet

After NYFW comes the shopping! and this one comes with a very good reason to indulge. On September 23 and 24, the Fashion Institute of Technology is turning its campus into one giant fashion closet for the inaugural 27th on Sale. More than 2,500 designer and vintage pieces up for grabs and proceeds benefiting FIT student scholarships and opportunities.

Think coveted closets, designer finds, vintage treasures and plenty of “wait, that’s for sale?” moments. Celebrity supporters including Tracee Ellis Ross, Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Chastain, Laura Dern and Lilly Singh have donated pieces, alongside fashion insiders such as Patricia Field, Elizabeth Stewart, Karla Welch and Tina Leung. FIT alumni and industry favorites are also getting in on the fun, making this as much a fashion treasure hunt as a fundraiser.

And there’s plenty beyond the racks. Shoppers can stop by the Style Lounge for complimentary styling advice and tailoring consultations, browse books and meet tastemakers including Fern Mallis and Mona May, or catch student DJs from WFIT. On September 24, FIT alum Michelle Feinberg of New York Embroidery Studio will even be offering complimentary embroidery and monogramming. Among the participating brands are Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Brandon Maxwell, Mulberry, Hervé Léger, SKIMS, Stuart Weitzman, Nike and Madewell. More info.
