TURKISH FASHION DESIGNERS FALL 2020

The collective TURKISH DESIGNERS FALL 2020 show featured young Turkish designers, some appearing during NYFW for the first time. Flaunting a range of textiles, the collections on the catwalk included embroideries  printed technical stretch fabrics, metallics and chantilly laces using Turkish textiles which go well beyond the denim and woven manufacturing Turkey was once famous for.

Styled for the times, the young designers created fashion forward collections. Standouts included a slinky pastel metallic capsule featuring jumpsuits accentuated by faux fur cuffs and large hats from designer Hakan Akkaya.  A nod to Eastern European glamour styled with a femme fatale snow bunny vibe. Fun!

More textural interest in the black on black on black sheer organzas with Chantilly lace from designer Simay Bulbul,  nomadic fluid styles from designer Asli Filinta, and neon friendly looks and jewelry from mother and daughter team Deniz Berdan.
