TEENS for good: Kids Cancel Cancer benefit for Pediatric Cancer Research

CATCHING UP: Last week, a group of ambitious and energetic teens worked with the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation to host the first ever KIDS CANCEL CANCER benefit for Pediatric Cancer Research. The event took place in a venue appropriate to the organizers’ interest and energy level, namely the arcade, bowling alley and general fun center called the Clubhouse out in the thin fine air of Easthampton.

With about 175 kids in attendance, as well as a much smaller number of proud parents and onlookers, teen advocates and event organizers including Mischa Abend, Abey Fuks, Ava Litman, and Hayley Silvers proved they have what it takes to get people to open their wallets for a good cause. The group just about reached its goal of raising $100,000 at this single event. SWCRF plans to establish a research grant with the funds which will support two years of research.
