Southampton African American Museum honors Jean Shafiroff at Summer Benefit

CATCHING UP: SUMMER fetes Out East! Philanthropist Jean Shafiroff was recently honored at the Southampton African American Museum’s (SAAM) Summer Benefit. The SAAM benefit was held to support the museum’s operations and endowment as the first African American designated landmark in the Village of Southampton.

Co-chaired by Jean Shafiroff and Her husband, Martin Shafiroff, along with Aisha Christian & Michael Steifman, the event was held at the garden of Main Prospect in Southampton, NY. The Southampton African American museum was a former Black barber shop opened on June 19, 2021. There was a special musical performance by Obie Award Winning actor Antwayn Hopper of Broadway hit “Strange Loop”.
