New York Fashion Week Highlights: lots of fun fashion and very energetic vibes for spring 2025. The most recent Fashion Week held in September had a variety of venues and included fashion shows outdoors. Quite the New York City energy this season! The show locations were all over the city – Uptown, midtown, downtown, and Brooklyn. The fashion shows ranged from forward fashion and new designers from all around the world and some of the usual designer brands we’re accustomed to hearing about.

Though that seems normal, many of the fashion shows were set outdoors with the neighborhood set as a backdrop- which was a little unusual even though the weather was nice and warm. There was a little bit of rain, and it did change my plans that day but the shows did go on! There were more exclusive venues and locations used including Consulates and private spaces with fewer invites and seats which added to the drama of what’s new this season!

The official CFDA calendar for NYFW Spring Summer 2025 was smaller and fewer shows for spring 2025 yet off-calendar shows and new Fashion Designers were aplenty it seemed. Though some of the venues and events felt more exclusive and industry only, there were also many non-industry “fashion weeks” hosting multiple shows, collaborations and designers – with paid ticketed events also open to the fashion loving public.

Here’s a glimpse of some moments and what I saw. behind the scenes and front row at Victor de Souza, Malan Breton, Richette, DurDoux. It was also interesting to see international brands coming back to New York this season! Finnish Designers VAIN and VITUNLEIJA as well as Ukrainian designers FROLOV HEART (who just dressed DojaCat) also showed their racy and fabulous fashion in the Upper East Side.It was nice to see the international brands coming back to New York Fashion Week again. We kicked off the season with the Catwalk Furbaby show, MC’d by NYFW queen Fern Mallis – and showcased alot of designer fashion with matching dog fashion. Super cute and so fun! VIPs at the show included Jean Shafiroff who walked on the runway in an FIT graduate gown. Albright College had a group of young designers we loved too at their show with graduates from multiple years showing together.

Though it was not the industry vibe we were used to at Bryant Park or Lincoln Center, it was definitely an entertaining fun vibe during NYFW September 2024 shows featuring Spring 2025. A mix of professionals, influencers, VIPs and ticketed attendees dressed for the occasion of new fashion.
