Valentino Menswear Fall 2014
The spotlight’s on the guys as menswear lines have been hitting the runway all week. Held in Paris, the Valentino Menswear Fall 2014 show was warm, classic and inviting. Designers Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri were all about the mosaic patterns this time around, with whispers of Aztec influences evident all throughout.
Some of our favorite boys walked this show, including Ben Allen, Abel van Oeveren, Arthur Gosse, Janis Ancens and Baptiste Radufe. We must say, there’s lots of handsome at every turn with this set.
The most fantastic thing about this collection has to be the decorated pea coats and hunting jackets in lovely earth tones. Funky and fun, they’re also extremely striking. For a more subdued look, woolen coats and tan overcoats are 100 percent masculine from head to toe. One in black, gray and brown stripes is a particular standout. Warm sweaters and classic rolled blue jeans are inviting, with white and navy tennis shoes adding a touch of sportiness. Even a few fuzzy hats will be sure to beat the bitter winter air.
These are the types of clothes made for a ski lodge. Snow and hot coco not included. An ideal fall set for the guys. fdmLOVES VALENTINO Menswear Fall 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa
