Tracy Reese Spring 2014
Tracy Reese’s Afro-Cuban-inspired Spring 2014 collection hit signature fit-and-flare frocks and voluminous midi skirts made perfect for a sultry cha-cha-chá. Drummers accompanied the mambo-themed soundtrack as models sported cropped tops with vibrant, hibiscus prints in sunburnt orange and contrasting black and white.
Playful dresses with ruffled hems channeled a seductive vibe in pieces like as a tropical silk cocktail dress with an appliqued tulle overlay and flamenco touches or of floral print on a cropped top and flared skirt. White eyelet and lace on Bermuda shorts, cropped tops and dresses reflected the label’s signature feminine style, whilst fierce gladiator sandals played to the collection’s athletic edge.
Peppered throughout the collection was an array of looks in vivacious hues, complete with bold tropical prints and flouncy silhouettes moving in time with the 3-piece Cuban band. Raffia embroideries, straw hats and silk scarves completed the scene and like a good cocktail, the lineup was mixed with a splash of flair. fdmLOVES TRACY REESE SPRING 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Khia Mercer.
