Timo Weiland Menswear AW13
The Timo Weiland line showed the men’s and women’s collections separately this season. With a menswear presentation in the Box at Lincoln Center we got and up close and personal look at what design team Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein have to offer. And we like what we saw, aside from the handsomes on platforms of course, it was the clothes they modeled that left an impression.
Cool guy layers were casually clean with a real feel for orderly urbanite mixing. Take for example a Euro-cut trouser paired with a color blocked shirt or a slightly silly sweater, sometimes topped in outerwear that works without taking over. Traditional fabrics and classic coloring kept the sensibility in place, while patterned pieces added interest, and techy touches of quilting got the job done without bulking things up.
The collaboration with Albertus Swanepoel for hats supplied just the right amount of punch with purpose. Overall the scene read like a straight forward young guy on the rise vibe with partially understated moments to keep the allure. fdmLOVES Timo Weiland Menswear selects by Brigitte Segura, Written by Sarah A.
