STELLA NOLASCO ss16 NYFW
Inspired by the writing of Jose del Diego, Stella Nolasco’s ss16 collection during NYFW was poetry in motion. Each look was romantic and decadent. Ladylike silhouettes played the perfect canvas for intricate embroidery, lace detailing, beading
Day wear in hues of powder pink, lemon, and sorbet opened the show. Slinky floor length dresses and jumpsuits clung close to the body, topped off with plunging necklines. Each piece was expertly tailored and accentuated their wearer’s figures, creating a vibe that’s equal parts sex appeal and refinement.
The Nolasco customer is definitely one who is comfortable in her own skin and revels in statement making garments. The collection’s second segment showcased stunning evening wear in shades of black, nude and silver. Nolasco displayed her expert eye for texture–varying design with tulle, lace, and silk, at times all on the same piece. Tailoring included architectural cut out details, and structured shapes. The result was looks that were as innovative as they were desirable.
