CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Skingraft Spring 2014

Making its first New York Fashion Week debut, L.A.-based Skingraft put on quite the spectacle for their Spring 2014 collection held at the Pier 59 arts space. Designer Jonny Cota presented the eclectically rockin’ crowd with lots of leather and black, with many hidden surprises. An interesting twinge of athletic chic even made an appearance, but it all flowed like chords on a guitar. We said some quick backstage ‘hellos’ to the busy models, including fdmlovesmens fave Baptiste Radufe. We were loving loving behind-the-scenes energy this NYFW!

As for the clothing, what came down the runway was too cool. Sporty details like jersey pieces, shin guards, mesh and even quilted patterned shirts were sprinkled among the collection perfectly. Athletic wear, you say? The most fashionable kind. Things stayed consistent in black and white, but a few colors like mustard yellow were apart of the set. Leather never looked better in hot leggings and the dresses were smoking in short and long variations. One in particular, a black long-sleeve number with a long train billowed beautifully. The cinched waist completed it, making the model look like one fierce gal in charge. Even the menswear looks were edgy with enough masculinity to keep the guys satisfied.

Black and white bone printed patterns truly awed us. Definitely the standout favorite, as it appeared on dresses and menswear jackets. Everything was so on trend that it’s no wonder this West Coast brand made its way East. One of everything, please! fdmLOVES SKINGRAFT spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
