ROOMEUR spring 2015
Island living and fashion become one as Roomeur gathered inspiration through a virtual journey of native life in Madagascar. For ROOMEUR spring 2015, designer Hagit Kassif was influenced by the sarongs, fabrics, and silhouettes that shape a woman’s appearance in Madagascar.
The choice of colors for the collection, primarily lemon green, straw brown, and sky blue, stemmed from a focus on the prevalent basket making native culture.
Also affected by the concept of the computer’s guidance through a virtual journey, Kassif drew from this the prints and patterns for the collection, mainly the repetition of lines. Silk and cotton are the dominant fabrics in the collection, and I think this combined with the earthy color palette aesthetically soothing appeal of the pieces, makes it a refreshing style for the spring and summer season.
