ROCHAMBEAU rocks NYFW:M fw17
This season, Rochambeau expressed raw attitude with a splash of the 70s and early 80s punk. The recent CFDA Fashion Fund competitors boasted their youthful attitude in taking risks to showcase their non traditional aesthetic with classic tailoring manipulated to bring a fresh take for the club kid. Adding the backdrop of zombie like dancers in the background with some hot red play with lights, the set was sizzling raw fabulous.
The designers at Rochambeau fused together their own aesthetic with the vision of Mark Mothersbaugh for a successful collaboration. This dialogue culminated with paint dripping on classic menswear silhouettes and faces obscured by masks with a performance alluding to inmates running the asylum. As if the presentation wasn’t enough, making a debut on the runway, fellow CFDA fashion fund competitor Adam Selmen, took to the catwalk in a fall favorite yellow top layered under loose overalls. Other favorites included an asymmetric wide-striped, baggy jumper, houndstooth overcoats, and a gray blazer smeared with a coral goop.
The collection had both mens and womenswear strutting down the catwalk to make this already innovative collection a standout. This young talent is definitely making a name for itself in the fashion arena.
