Fashiondailymag EXCLUSIVE: Ricardo Seco Men’s RTW Fall 2016 – Interview.
Designer Ricardo Seco Interviewed by Brigitte Segura, Marlon Zepeda
Fashion Daily Mag: What kickstarted your creativity behind this season’s collection?
RS: Six months ago I was inspired by the Serape made in the north of Mexico. They have 450 years using this item. I imagined how you can use it in New York in the winter, Burning Man too. I designed using full color with the black and white stripes. I mixed with the other details like fur and black, and to me that represents New York. Mexico dress bought to the streets of New York.
Fashion Daily Mag: What got you to the metallic?
RS: The typical serape is full color, but no metallic. I needed to do something different, so I added acrylic with the metallic. It looks more modern, edgier.
Fashion Daily Mag: What differentiates the Ricardo Seco man from every other man?
RS: Richardo Seco shares his identity. I’m from Mexico. I like to share my culture, I like to share the good, positive things about Mexico.
Fashion Daily Mag: What’s the next collaboration you have in the works and why?
RS: Sneakers, something with a brand of a store, and a cartoon.
