NICHOLAS K ss16 NYFW
New York took flight as Nicholas K opened the city’s New York fashion week at Skylight Clarkson. The brother-sister duo’s 50 look “Terminal Velocity” collection showcased fluid, flowing looks in a full spectrum of earth toned hues.
Models glided down the runway, fabric wafting behind them like a parachute waving in the sky. The collection employed the signature draping techniques the house is known for, updated with metal accents and utilitarian motifs.
The show’s “all terrain” color palette of sand, sky blue, midnight, green and white was a sophisticated take on camouflage. Models donned tactical accessories–including batches of pilot pens adding more to the flavor of bold gold plated cuffs, ropes, and pitch black sunglasses, lending the collection a militaristic feel.
Nude smoky eyes from Stila and ultra-slick “Back Knot” hair by celebrity stylist Giannandrea at Macadamia made the finished the uniform look, making the ladies at Nicholas K were the perfect fleet of fashionable warriors.
