MENSWEAR highlights NYMD SS17
Catching up to New York Mens Day: Our favorite place kicking off NYFW:Mens shows for ss17. What started as a place to launch emerging designers has now become a hot spot for editors + bloggers to view the collections, mingle, and catch the menswear vibe. The cadillac sponsored venue at Industria Superstudio remains a hot spot for fresh talent to be discovered…
From minimalist to over-the-top style, here’s a glimpse of the morning group at NYFWM / NYMD ss17 featuring David Hart, PLAC, David Naman, WoodHouse, and Max ‘N Chester.
The WoodHouse collection is not for the faint hearted. Bold prints and statement accessories were featured in every look, elevating the word “ready-to-wear” for men. The patterned pieces and monochrome palettes along with oversized sunglasses and head gear screamed go big or go home! Denim and GEOs brought personality over to visit this WoodHouse.

David Naman brings prep boy coolness for spring summer. It was a bomber jacket, floral print and tailored chino pants galore. All of the garments are great for transitioning from the office to taking on the social scene. The fearless pairing of suits with sneakers and flip-flops show off the collection’s casual chic vibe.
PLAC’s retro theme of the set supported the collection’s tone of a blast from the past ensemble. Vibrant colors and stripes were a major theme. The stripes and minimalist pairing commanded the collection. All of the pieces could easily be paired together for a relaxed everyday look.
Max ‘N Chester makes you want to grab a sail and cross the Mediterranean Sea with these classic nautical blues. Layering was a key element to all the looks whether it is a chambray button up or linen blazer; many of the pieces were compiled as a matching color set. A sprinkle of female models wearing tailored suits mingled in the collection nicely.
David Hart is a case of a rare time where a Hawaiian vacation meets high fashion successfully. The California laid back surfer vintage vibes were fun and refreshing. The bright yellows, tailored shorts, palm tree prints and boardwalk runway just makes you want to grab a coconut and chill by the Pacific.
