MATHIEU MIRANO fall 2012 NYFW
new FACES: MATHIEU MIRANO fall 2012 at New York Fashion Week. edgy evening continues to trend this fashion week with leathers, faux fur and intricate evening wear details placed with the usual sparkled bling. Full of daring colors, exciting textures, and bold hardware, he strove to and succeed in creating a women’s collection inspired by Chinese myths of dragons and women. Dynamic pieces in red and black shone with golden embroidery and jackets with claw-like closures really emphasized the Asian motif while modernizing the tradition by which it was inspired.
Most of the stand out pieces featured black sun-shaped patterns laid against bright gold dresses and jackets. Fur, leather, tulle, organza, and python all made appearances at this presentation, showing a versatility for the young designer and a vision to give us some edgy night looks we are so craving, sans the long ball gown… fdm commentary + selects by brigitte segura, written by mickey hightower.
