Marni Fall 2014 MFW
Sophistication and sport come alive again in the Marni Fall 2014 collection shown during MFW. Designer Consuelo Castiglioni loves to play on the different facets of being feminine and continues to do so quite beautifully. This set is exaggerated in all the right plays, showing amplified silhouettes and cuts that never once feel boxy. There’s layers that evoke allure and pieces are almost ‘built’ on top of one another like a city skyline view. The Marni girl is just as fearless as she is girly…taking all the right kind of risks.
Prints are wild and look just as fierce with fuzzy detailing on shoulders and necks. This muse is a lady of the jungle, prowess included. Colors are varied and switch back and forth from bright and powerful to dark and mysterious. In typical Marni fashion, many looks are cinched at the waist, embracing curves and showing to ‘fault what you got.’ There’s a definite Native American vibe in many of the neutral looks. Feather and fringe detailing moves quite gorgeously on skirts and sweaters. Inviting and rustic.
This set is skirt-heavy, embodying the classic female spirit. These are looks that turn girls into style icons. They’ll all be ‘Marni’ girls especially soon. fdmLOVES MARNI Fall 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
