KARIGAM ss16

Venezuelan born Karina Gamez’s line Karigam SS16 made a star studded debut at New York Fashion Week.  Not only was the front row lined with stars such as Solange, Jamie Chung, and NeNe Leaks, but the runway featured veteran models such as Devon Windsor, Hilary Rhoda, Yumi Lambert and Jessica Stam.

Taking influences from architecture, geometry and art, the collection provided a minimal approach to structural style.  Classic silhouettes were revamped with asymmetric hemlines and geometric paneling, giving way to peekaboo mesh and leather.

The collection featured a minimal palette of monochrome hues of white paired with nude, black, and gray.  Emphasis was on color blocked neutrals, layered textures, and zipper detailing—each piece possessing a unique, elevated element.
