JOSEPH ABBOUD spring 2013 NYFW
The New York Public Library was transformed into a darkly lit symphony scene to showcase sophisticated fashions for the modern-made [in America] man.. a la Bernardo Rojo for JOSEPH ABBOUD spring 2013 collection. As the Creative Director for the label, Rojo moved forward while leaving tasty morsels of tradition along the way. Suit staples ruled the runway, as mix and match scheme flowed from serious to playful with classic and contemporary sharing the spotlight. Celeb fans of the brand in attendance included twilight’s KELLAN LUTZ, U.S. olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte [who had his own fan club outside the venue shouting their love], Hunter Parrish, Daniel Gillies, Alexander Ludwig, Frank Grillo, and Brad Richards of the New York Rangers.
Greys, blues, and ruby red hues gave posed proper with lively pieces thrown in to keep it from being stuffy. Herringbones and thin-lined plaids worked well when appropriately stacked with patterned dress shirts or against solids, especially trousers. Utilitarian cuts turned chic with belted flair, motorcycle styles were more refined in light shades such as cream, and rainy day outerwear was enhanced with weatherproof shine. Leisure time styles like bold stripes, just above the ankle length pant hems, shorts paired with sweaters, and the presence of fresh whites gave a nod to Americana while leaving the office at bay. Suavely gelled hair, deck shoes, and a silky scarf infused casual elements while the remaining sharply dressed.
