Jenny Packham FW 2012
It’s probably perfect the Dita Von Teese was front row at British designer Jenny Packham’s FW 2012 collection at Lincoln Center because the designer definitely mixed a little vintage hollywood with film noir. While she’s known for her airy and delicate color palette and fluttering draped designs, we found that Packham was being much bolder with this collection. The designer showcased a lot of black and red, she focused a lot on building the female shape, creating a more defined shoulder with sequin and beaded embellishments and tapered waist using form-fitting pencil skirts and sleek dresses.
Even the makeup featured dark painted lips that suited the dramatic 1940s hairstyle sported by the models. Packham did explore more color with blues, pinks, silvers, and greys featured as a few of her more red carpet ready dresses. The show closed with a bang with Packham sending a one sleeved deep red satin cutout dress that glittered with crystal encrusted illusion tulle down the runway that was ultra-sexy and ultra-feminine. written By Mickey Hightower | fdm selects from the runway by brigitte segura | FashionDailyMagfashion + lifestyle in LUXchic..
