CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Houghton Fall 2014 NYFW

Held inside Milk Studios during NYFW, the Houghton Fall 2014 line was one of our highlights during the busy week. Designer Katharine Polk has given us a true-blue autumn/winter set and we adore it. From gorgeous earth tones in camel and ethereal white to the richest of blacks, we were intrigued as soon as the first look hit the runway. We’ve been following this special brand for the past few seasons, and we must say, it gets better each time [if that’s even possible!] We’re fans and we’re very proud to say it. After looking at this set…everyone else will be too.

‘Oversized bliss’ is how we’d like to describe most of these looks. Don’t shy away from that adjective though…there’s a slew of amazing robe coats in a loose style that’s amazing. This is comfy high-fashion and we’re obsessed. Not enough can be possibly said about all the coats, they’re all beyond. The standout is definitely a black and white striped number over a gray striped dress. No one could tear their eyes away from that look. There’s trousers that would make the late Katharine Hepburn pleased and black gowns that hint at Victorian-era inspiration. Opening the show with serene and closing with moody…we love it.

These pieces are undoubtedly feminine. They tug at your heart and don’t let it go. Basically, it’s love in a line. We’re hooked. fdmLOVES HOUGHTON Fall 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
