Houghton Fall 2013
Houghton gave us luxurious eye candy for the Fall Winter 2013 Collection shown at the STANDARD during New York Fashion Week. Designer Young designer Katharine Polk was inspired by the likes of stylish women such as Bianca Jagger and Patti Smith, so we weren’t surprised when we saw a variety of luxe fabrics including leathers and velvets overlaid with feathers to go with the silks and lace.
Houghton showcased jewel tones with accents of fuchsia, green and cobalt blue. All the pieces in the collection were exquisite, the (stunning) laminated lace, burnout velvets, and the waxed twill included. The the CHIC cool light toned floor length gown with oversized bow around the neck was one of our favorites. The fuschia lace cocktail number worn by Cody Young was hot for a clean cut modern look.
The timeless elegance of the prints gave us an essence of a women cocktail-ing at the Carlyle Hotel in the 80’s. Each model was finished off with this season’s trending slicked back hair and simple makeup to play the part of pretty. fdmLOVES selects from Houghton fall 2013 by Brigitte Segura, written by P.A.
