Starting from the bottom, the flat footwear gives a fashionable dose to function. From menswear-inspired oxfords to loafers (braided in raffia no less), ladies won’t be limited to just stilettos and sandals this season. A kitten heel is spicy, not just sweet, when paired with Bottega Veneta‘s square silhouettes (think graphic tops). A-line poplin dresses and skirts were less 1950’s suburban housewife and more downtown chic, as the hues streaming across the pieces brought boldness to the closet staple.

Abstract prints in black and whites, pinks, blues, and reds, were a fresh breakaway from the typical floral offerings this season. Jolts of neon hues on hand-painted goatskin handbags accented the lighter than air looks. Cotton, fringe, macrame, lace of St. Gallen, and sequins were just the beginning of the collection’s embellishments and fabrications, yet Maier stopped it from being overwhelming by keeping the simple shape. Youthful sass was added to the class, by matching knee-length sheath dresses to the footwear. Although, if the technicolor touches aren’t for you, there’s plenty of earth tones and solids. These pieces were still as enticing with thigh-baring tailored shorts and structured wrap-dresses for revamped basics. Whether you’re a beach babe or a boardroom boss, this resort 2014 collection will help you make a lasting impression.
