Haider Ackermann Menswear spring 2014
Many designers have been dipping into menswear this season. Haider Ackermann is one who decided to foray into men’s apparel. He nailed it with this uber masculine set for his Menswear spring 2014 collection. Sticking with typical romantic jewel tone hues and standard slouchiness, these pieces lay beautifully on the tattooed models. Possessing a sense of hard glamour, the designer is showing that even the toughest of guys wear stunning clothes. Everything is literally shining here. No sunglasses needed…these pieces deserve to be taken in fully.
The tailoring here is impeccable. Menswear requires finer details and Ackermann performs flawlessly here. Trousers are baggy but still luxurious with tapered cuffs. The pair with a green dragon print are killer with the blazer that resembles a high-fashion pajama top. There’s Asian influence in the long purple satin dinner jacket that looks so smooth. A shimmering gold satin blazer looks like the pendulum on a grand clock. An asymmetrical printed shirt underneath tricks the eye and makes the look complete. Another gorgeous piece is the lilac coat with satin mauve trousers. That entire outfit feels like a modern take on an early 19th century nobleman. Instead of a horse, this wearer could get away in his sleek sports car. Romantic and full of personality.
These clothes tell a story. With touches of feminine undertones, it’s a line that’s likely to get the attention of both men and women. This collection is has grace and poise.. it’s hard to believe it has taken him this long to get into menswear. We’re so happy he finally did. fdmLOVES HAIDER ACKERMANN Menswear spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa
