Givenchy AW13 Paris Fashion Week
An awe inspiring showing at Givenchy for Fall 2013. Maximum cool for the reliably chic as dreamed up by designer Riccardo Tisci, who has been at the creative helm for the label over the last eight seasons. The choice of venue, Halle Freyssinet, had a warehouse vibe with attendees circled up with bright lights shining… The very fabulous front row club included Jessica Chastain, Frank Ocean, Mario Testino, Ciara, Kanye West, Nicole Richie and Carine Roitfeld.
Longtime friend of the designer Antony Hegarty, of Antony and the Johnsons, performed three songs that hit close to home fusing now & then for fashions that impress with ease. So it was a little grunge meets pop art a la plaids and leathers with Disney imagery… wha? No really it was an edgy delivery that was absolutely awesome. Cinched waists and sheer skirts added a certain sensuality to the forms as floral prints infused a distinct femininity. Moto moments with hard lines exposed when split and added dimension when unzipped and folded over.
It wasn’t just about the clothes, the styling was well executed from start to finish. The hair was perfectly sculpted by Luigi Murenu into pin curls that resembled flowers. For extra pop, the curls were sprayed with lively shades of pink, orange and blue, to name a few. Make-up artist Pat McGrath created a fresh faced look with romantically rosy hued lids. Together is was poetry in motion for the young and modern chasing a dream. fdmLOVES Givenchy fall 2013 by Brigitte Segura, written by Sarah A. Freiseis.
