CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Fendi Menswear spring 2014

Set in the middle of a large warehouse, the Fendi Menswear spring 2014 show was hot, hot, hot in color and atmosphere. Designer Venturini Fendi sent her guys down a runway of sand, evoking a desert groove. Perhaps channeling the company’s Roman roots, this collection was not barren or arid. In fact, the futuristic prints, textures and patterns blew us away like the winds of a hurricane. Loud, funky and scorching, this set flies sky high. Instead of looking down, we suggest you look full speed ahead and take in these wondrous pieces.

Colors are emphasized and accessorized well. Rich indigo is spotted again, and we can’t get enough of this color in menswear. It looks great in jackets and shirts. Even a pair of pants looks blazing with a burnt orange hooded raincoat. A lot of textures bordered on synthetic, and a few pieces resembled cracked eggs. Many of the blazers, shirts and coats are collarless, meaning they’ll be cool on those sunny days. Oversized graphic T-shirts are smooth in silk and pop underneath under bright colors. There’s also an interesting mustard yellow shade that really stands out even behind the golden walkway. It’s like following the yellow sand road, and we’ll gladly come along for the ride.

Plaid prints work on mismatched pants and blazers. The last look, an olive green trench coat outlined in gold looks ridiculously good with the salmon colored pants. All those colors flow freely. IT wouldn’t be a Fendi show without the accessories; this assortment is fab for the fashionistos. Weekend bags, foldable briefcases and even mini-iPad cases are loaded with functionality… accessories guys will actually want in their closets!
