FALL 2015 NYFW highlights vol. 2
Young, fun + fabulous! More highlights from the NYFW fall 2015 collections featuring Saunder, Kye, Ready to Fish, Degen, Francesca Liberatore, and Rubin + Chapelle. From texturized modern twists at Kye studded with hearts to Saunder’s mixed patterns in layers, here are some of our favorite looks with more NYFW to come.
Back to school for the girls and guys at KYE 2015. Pops of preppy were cleverly paired with casual confidence. From pleated skirts to tonal varsity jackets, the unique street influence worked like a charm. We especially loved the applique heart detailing that was split on on the bodice and arm to complete the picture. Models rocked Dr. Martens and designer Kathleen Kye debuted handbags as an extension of the collection.
Royalty reigned supreme at Saunder Fall 2015. Designer Emily Saunder got inspired by historical novels in crafting the slightly campy collection. From Tudor type influences in shape and imagery to traditionally british fabrication, medieval nods were fused with new school cool. Silhouettes flaunted caplets and peplums in lush fabrics styled with class.
Shaped in shameless artiness DEGEN Fall 2015 was an ode to Claes Oldenburg. Designer Lindsay Degen was inspired by artist’ king-size sculptural displays. Handmade knits were created with crafty form in a rainbowed kaleidoscope. The pieces’ one of a kind sensibility gives rise to an assortment of mix and match crop tops and draped drawers. She also collaborated with illustrator Gretta Johnson for the wearable Print All Over Me pieces.
Rubin + Chapelle Duo Sonja Rubin and Kip Chapelle showcased passionately placed patterns for Fall 2015. Together with designer Johanna Michel they developed a series of original prints. Their flowy satin style got textured with pleated and crimping techniques. The understated influence is seen in the appearance of tartan inspired wear.
Super hero style at Francesca Liberatore Fall 2015. The Italian designer showed in the Salon during Mercedes Benz Fashion week New York for a second time as winner of the DHL Exported Award. Star studded moments made their way playfully down the runway in the form of prints and shields and bag as accessories. A less literal interpretation delivered daringly desirably tailoring with snug silhouettes in black.
Super cute Ready to Fish brought us a melange of graphic with pop colors. Chic + fresh wearable European silhouettes with an edge of modern, ready for the city in tones of blues, mustard and hints of pink.
