emerging + fantastic LAURENCE and CHICO
When you can’t stop staring at the details. And of course it’s one of my favorites from fall 2017 – if not the absolute favorite. Though the idea that LAURENCE + CHICO decided to forego a runway show and have a presentation at pier 59 was at first a why! but after standing in awe and looking at the fantastical details and shapes, it all made sense.
Take a look at this fantastic young designer collection. Sculpted looks, patterns, glittery details, all made with a hand that actually knows construction and drape – an unusual combo for a young designers. The hair and glittery makeup was grand too, in perfect balance with the forward-minded voluminous shapes. Though I loved the collection from this dynamic duo a few seasons ago, they rocked the avant garde young groove enormously this season.
And if I had to find anything I didn’t like about this show, it was about the people standing and not moving – as everyone stood still – and it was hard to get through anyone to see… Words not needed. (I think Miss J. didn’t move either). Here’s a little peek at what we loved, and maybe why we all stood still at this presentation, captured by paulterrie x FashionDailyMag exclusive collab.
I’m even more impressed. Check out David Chiang (above) Shaun Ross too. Can you recognize them?
