CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

new emerald GREEN envy for the year

Pantone LLC, the company known for color coordinating for all industries dealing with decoration – fashion, home, and beauty just to name a few, has designated the 2013 color of the year. The choice, based on popularity and sustainability, put jewel toned Emerald green as color of the year [aka PANTONE 17-5641] on the map. Signifying health, wealth, and so much more, the radiant quality of this shade of green is classic +  elegant. We’ve put together some FDM selects to cover a span of green goodies to inspire us for the whole year.

Add some dazzling dangle with jewels. Wow a crowd with the ultimate indulgence — a square cut Tiffany & Co Emerald Diamond Ring. For something a little more casual, try the multi-tiered Olivia Necklace in green by Ann and Arayata ($86). The hand beaded style is available in lengths between 19″-22″ and is inspired by traditional designs of the southern Philippines. Mix, match, and layer with pieces from the Henri Bendel collection of Spring 2013 accessories like the Delicate Girlfriend Crystal Collar selling at $158, the mutli-colored Delux Girlfriend Wrap Bracelet going for $128, and the sparkly Harry Link Bracelet retailing at $298. Another way to add a pretty pop is to go with some arm candy colored purses!  Designer Stacey Bendet of Alice + Olivia is hot on the trend, keeping it cool with a leather bowling-like bag for pre-fall 2013.

Cosmetics get drama in a glitzy Wizard of Oz fueled story. Of course eye color tops the list as a flavorful must have for this movement in make-up. The Smashbox Limitless 15 Hour Wear Cream Shadow in Neptune is striking and stays put.  For about $19 (Smashbox.com) the creamy consistency adds to the effect of unwavering power and tenacity.  Shake things up with Streekers wild weekend – offering a bold new way to add vibrancy to tresses using a liquid formula. The temporary hair highlights wash out at your whim — $11.95 and available at Ulta.com

Fashions are fabulously stunning in this red-carpet ready hue. Two dresses highlighted during the Zac Posen SS13 runway show completely embraced the look. One a clean mermaid shape, the other a belle of the ball princess cut gown, both, simply divine.  Have fun going the kitschy route with German brand, MAC, for their 2013 Spring Summer Womens Collection. Easy and on target with a skinny fit long legged seafoam translation.

To top it all off, Pantone is offering products in Emerald as well. Mugs, you can never have too many of them, and they appropriate an appropriate gift item to boot. This is a limited edition fine bone china mug is individually packaged in a cute gift box ($25). Also, designed by Case Scenario, iPhone 5 models are available ($34.95). The cover looks like a bit like a swatch itself, and is totally cool for creative types than can appreciate the humor, and the fabulousness. Gobs of choices with a load of ways to enjoy and a little less than a year left to partake in Pantone. So go on, get out there and go green! Selects by Brigitte Segura, Written by Sarah A. Freiseis.
