Countdown to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York

The Fall 2014 collections will be revealed in just a matter of weeks. The industries’ most talented designers from all over the world will set the city ablaze with unending creativity and expressive transformations. The [big wigs] over at IMG Fashion have released a preliminary schedule of shows and introduced a brand new venue at Lincoln Center dubbed the Pavilion.

In addition to added support for established names, a new presentation space for up and comers is set for  the Hub at Hudson.

Now in her fifth year of being at the tents, designer Mara Hoffman speaks to the changes,“I am looking forward to seeing how the new venue changes and event upgrades will improve the guest experience, show production and ultimately help my brand connect with the consumer.”

More so this season will mark the launch of MBFW District, allowing for presenting collections at off-site venues while remaining under the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week umbrella. This will be formatted as a Digital District – a virtual home of fashion week so to speak with live-streamed runway shows and so much more.

Fashion week veteran Diane von Furstenberg will be celebrating in a big way this year, “New York City is the epicenter of fashion and the redesigned MBFW District will show off all of the talent and culture that is seen throughout the entire city. 2014 is a very special year for my brand; the 40th Anniversary of the wrap-dress, and I wanted to do something special to celebrate. I am looking forward to hosting my show at a space that is unique to this season’s vision and celebration, and excited to continue being a part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.”

Long-time favorites and scene stealing new comers have already been added the roster for the February showcase to be kicked-off by Nicholas K and joined by scores of others: Mark and Estel, Diesel Black Gold, Skingraft, Noon by Noor, Alon Livné, MM6 Maison Martin Margiela, J. Mendel, and Todd Snyder just to name a few. Not to fret there are many more – so for a complete list of designers check out:
