Chanel Fall 2014 PFW
Last season it was art, this season it’s….grocery shopping? Absolutely. The creative and wildly entertaining Karl Lagerfeld set up the runway like the aisles of a supermarket for his Chanel Fall 2014 collection during PFW. This is kitschy fashion at its most exciting level. Before the show, guests were able to peruse and browse the hundreds of ‘Chanel’ produce items on display. With the red hot Cara Delevingne opening [and closing], this was the show to witness during the week of Paris’ best. Other notable ladies included Lindsey Wixson, Julia Nobis, Joan Smalls, Sasha Luss + more. check out the Video from the show below:
There’s corseted suits with oversized sleeves and pant legs, bare midriffs, and plenty of classic Chanel tweed to go around. The fabric staple is lovely on loose-fitting coats. Colors are relatively light for fall with a couple all-black leather looks for that little bit of edge. Some of these styles are reminiscent of this line’s recent couture line, especially using sporty trainers for footwear. This designer has been opting for flat sporty chic instead of the stiletto route. It’s a cute change we’re sure [the models] are grateful for, too! Color pops and girly detailing are sprinkled throughout, looking especially cute on cropped coats. Plus, the frou frou embellishments are confectionery sweet.
We love that he incorporated stylish ’shopping carts’ into this mix. Everyone takes trips to the market…some more fashionable than others. fdmLOVES CHANEL Fall 2014 selects + edits by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
