CATCHING up with JOE COLE
With cherub-like features and dreamy light eyes, it’s a surprise to see that actor Joe Cole flourishes in nitty gritty roles. This 24-year-old Brit is one of the stars in the new BBC drama, Peaky Blinders, a show that revolves around Birmingham gangsters in the years following WWI. Think England’s answer to HBO, this show applies the heavy cinematic glory that every gangster show requires.
Cole was styled retro handsome by Tony Cook, recently featured in Issue 136 | One To Watch. Take a gander at these images by Azim Haidaryan.

There’s a combo of great styling here. From a form-fitted John Smedley merino wool rollneck sweater to a gorgeous green Acne wool-blend sweater, he wears everything so handsomely. A burgundy Maison Martin Margiela slim-fit wool-blend suit paired with Church’s leather derby shoes is a 100 percent flawless look.
Modern gangster flair, anyone? All set for winter briskness, Cole’s also wearing a Canada goose parka jacket, J. Crew 484 slim-fit jeans, and Church’s pebble-grain leather derby shoes in one of several alluring outside shots. The most memorable look is definitely an A.P.C. red corduroy jacket, J.Crew jeans, Dan Ward cotton-jersey and those rocking Church’s derby shoes. Can’t help but think this look is a nod to James Dean’s too-cool style. Joe knows how to rule the rebel vibe.
As for the other styles, Gucci, Burberry Brit, Beams Plus, Margaret Howell, Paul Smith Shoes & Accessories, and MCQ Alexander McQueen are all other brands worn worth mentioning. Starting out selling coffee, he’s come a long way since then. Driven and full of obvious talent, this guy’s one to keep your eye on.
