When Carmen Marc Valvo decided move back to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at lincoln center, we were excited to see what he was going to show. As always, he did not disappoint… and many fans like the newly married Hilaria Baldwin was there in support of the designer. From the time we walked in, we heard mystical music setting the scene for a dramatic show.
Inspired by American writer Edgar Allan Poe, the tone set it up to be even more dark and dreamy. The palette varied from matte blacks to vibrant reds, which was commonly used by designers this season. To add depth, Valvo used a variety of lavish materials. Our mouths dropped when we first took sight of the drop dead gorgeous black embroidered gown with beautiful lace and classic leather.
CMV’s beauty (including mane details) was accented with just the right amount of bold to complete the look. The slicked back hair was shaped by Ted Gibson and finished of with a pink dip dye. James Boehmer for NARS created a soft eye in contrast with a bold red lip. Written by Amir Taghi.
