CARLOS MIELE spring 2013 runway highlights
It’s a jungle out there, wink. an upbeat and intensely colorful Carlos Miele spring 2013 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Animal prints of tiger, zebra, and leopard in white and/or yellow were fierce. Adding the electric blue giraffe pattern inspired by the designer’s young son’s drawing of the same, resulted in eclectic, but not too funky. Criss-cross pleated pieces in dusty teal and leafy green flattered the female for form, as one shoulder ensembles gave a taste of Tarzan.
Sheer and breezy layering in long and flowing looks found easy style, while turquoise stone embellishments accented with dimension. Black cocktails beaded, and sometimes fringed, infused a little sass into the staple.
Styled with appropriate flair using suede bags trimmed in fringe and strappy sandals with ornamentation. Rouge lips and bare faces by Gato for Maybeline paired cleanly with simple and straight hair by Rodney for Culter/Redken. Paula Abdul, Vanessa Williams, Daisy Fuentes, Kelly Bensimon, and P’trique made an appearance for the love of Miele. Written by Sarah A.
