BURBERRY ss16 LFW
The extravagance at Burberry ss16 celebrated trailblazers in every dimension. Trendsetting spans from fashion to technology and every category that falls between. The image of industry advancement went about highlighting the sophisticated side of style. Pulling out all the stops for a the unveiling of the first ever official snapchat preview and a modernly magnificent runway show.
No denying this brand’s popularity – a fabulous front row mecca including the hottest celebrities and society’s elite. Girl power… Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Suki Waterhouse to name a few, oh and Cara Delevingne (+ St Vincent), though Benedict Cumberbatch kept things mysteriously cool.
Keeping things lively for the show, the musical accompaniment was dynamic as ever in the custom-built Kensington Gardens venue. In a move that announced the company’s branded channel through Apple’s new music streaming service. By showcasing a live performance from Brit singer Alison Moyet backed by a 32 piece orchestra (all outfitted in Burberry), the curative elements reached yet another platform of inspiration. Designer Christopher Bailey is more than a sharp eye and chic finesse, he gets it – the culture of the label, the clientele, the whole kit-and-caboodle. He showed his aptitude for embracing the transitional wardrobe and influence of lifestyle with this slightly au courant interpretation.
The non-seasonal take included lace, overcoats, and loads of black. From royal nods with military outfitting the outdoorsy side of the English country came full frontal. The proper vibe was still in place with silky silhouettes and romantically light layers topped with pea coats and capes. A little surprised with the selection of flat footwear and rucksacks, but then again so was everybody else, and that was kind of the point. Clever, cunning, and always charming, Burberry is on top of their game. BURBERRY ss16 LFW selects + commentary by Brigitte Segura, Written by sarah Freiseis.
