CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

BURBERRY PRORSUM womenswear ss13

Somewhere over the candy rainbow at Burberry Spring/Summer 2013-and with this celeb attendee list, they’ve done something shiny right ! a few front row views from Mario Testino, Gabriella Wilde, Dita von Teese, Olivia Palermo, Pete Reed, Sir Jonathan Ive, Dev Patel,  Harvey Weinstein, Aaron Paul, Harry Styles, Jonnie Peacock, Allison Mosshart, Miles Kane, Suki Waterhouse, Roo Panes, Pete Reed, George Craig, Laura Bailey, Maria Miller, Do Youn Jeon, Nicholas Coleridge, Tali Lennox, Jeremy Irvine, Maggie Cheung, and Caroline Rush, all checking out the striking hues of the collection. even ANNA WINTOUR was smiling at least twice, we noticed, sitting with andy murray front row, and just before the show with Testino.

Christopher Bailey made a stretch from the trench tones to bold Burberry girl, as models stepped out in a splash of hues from turquoise to copper to fuchsia- all in fearless fabrics from lace to feathers to metallic silk. Once the skylights opened, colors seemed to stream down their classic trenches, blurring the lines between strict+sweet. Bailey once again updated the brand’s classics, introducing the 1940’s Burberry girl, as fresh plastic caplets showed you can battle the rain and still look your [much brighter] best.

Always playing with the label’s trademark trench, Bailey gave corsets their time to shine (literally) as the bright bodices + seams found their detailed way onto skirts, dresses, jackets, and trenchcoats. The silhouettes within the show created a subtle hourglass shape with the cinched jackets, while the uniformity of the colors  cleanly streamlined the lustrous looks.

Solid animal prints made a silent yet strong statement on Python satin +metallic peep-toe and point-toe wedges in canary yellow, ink blue, and also silver. Never forgetting the modern-girl, several leg-baring looks like ruched swimsuits and short shorts paired with cropped caplets effortlessly joined past + present. They also gave a chic coverup for those cool nights poolside. As see-thru Blaze bags were swinging to beat, they revealed how even the use of a little color can still be a showstopper.  Plaid  onto the runway on the handbags, playing with the jewel-toned handbags. Burberry spread the joy worldwide, by showing their show live in Hyde Park, Burberry Regent Street, and across the globe through the The Digital Experience: Live from Burberry World. This collection carries all of the past Brit Olympic spirit to the spring season. Slide on your sunglasses, spring 2013 will be a shiny stunner at BURBERRY for the ladies.
