CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Blumarine Spring 2014 MFW

We’re transported to a late summer’s evening while taking in the Blumarine Spring 2014 collection. The Italian brand was swept away by that intoxicating warm air, presenting a varied collection of whimsical, sweet and bombshell silhouettes. Designer Anna Molinari’s theme ‘Of Lights, Shadows, Butterflies and Flowers’ rings truly, as each characteristic is represented quite beautifully. It’s a fun transition from ethereal to sexy as it progresses, a perfect evolution.

The set starts out in gorgeous laces and macramé appliqués as they lay delicately over nude fabrics. A trending spring style, a short dress with a sheer overlay, is stunning with butterfly detailing from top to bottom. Another long/short gown is delicate with applied white flowers throughout. A pair of black leather boots give the look the right dab of edge. A cute A-line dress is Sixties London mod fabulous, while mustard yellow and red looks add some flair as the collection transforms. Things quickly get glitzy towards the end, as sequins and crystals dazzle short and long dresses in fifties pinup styles. Glamorous.

This assortment is varied and lovely. It’s the perfect mix for those nighttime summer parties. Good and bad girl combined. Even a few of the sparklers resemble stars in the clear night sky. A little bit of everything. fdmLOVES BLUMARINE Spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
