Belstaff Resort 2014
Belstaff puts the pedal to the metal for the for resort 2014 Brit biker babe. After slipping into one of their legendary jackets, you may suddenly feel the need for speed. The Roadmaster styles still look timeless, and Creative Director Martin Cooper takes on the challenge of Perfecting the Perfecto by countering classics. Exposed fixtures, from zippers to bright metal snaps on lux leathers trousers and cargo pants for resort. With their motorcycle jackets at the wheel of the collection, Belstaff carried the iconic piece all the way to the finish line for the season.
Whether you opt for light or dark, the leather looks cover every end of the spectrum. Kicking off resort 2014 with a series of all white makes the durable material appear lightweight and lovely, especially with the free flowing tops and slightly relaxed trousers. The collection takes you on a fast ride by starting from white then going to tan, onyx, brown, and landing, at last, on red. The red is definitely the wildcard, and a hue we do not want to be tamed. Leathers descend from the jackets onto the skirts, as the short A-lines looked forceful, not flirty in the tougher textile. Although the leg wear hugs every curve, it’s still wearable in stretch front jersey leather.
Taking a turn away from the racer, we are still entranced, with sharp button-down collars peek out from underneath graphic sweaters. High voltage hues make short silk dresses look striking with their long and lean lines. Even the polkadots are a nod to racing’s 1950’s past. Pairing outerwear with a billowing polka dot top adds feminine flair without overdoing it. We can imagine screaming fans on the sidelines waving their patterned scarves for their fave drivers. Topping the looks off with a peep toe ankle boot, Belstaff makes sure you getaway in style. fdmLOVES selects from BELSTAFF RESORT 2014 by Brigitte Segura, Written by Mary Anderson.
