BACKPACK for laptop days
SPORTING a back to school look for my every day. It feels like a throwback to college (or my first years in NYC) with a backpack, but with the laptop situation at hand almost daily, I’m taking the weight into my own hands. I’ve been looking for a bag that looks good, not too college, modern enough, and has enough storage + padding for my precious item.
So I tried out this Frenchie bag by Lipault, figuring the detailed euro’s would take everything into consideration in creating a practical design. Well, they did! The ‘Plume’ 15″ design itself is modern and not frumpy… and that’s a plus. The very attractive handle on the top of the bag can also be used to carry it like a purse when you get to a destination. And… look at me, gold headphones, gadget on back + hands free to take pics with my phone- yay!
The compartments. There are 2 compartments, with padding on the sides to hold the 15″ laptop in place. The 2nd compartment has enough room for a makeup bag, keys, notepad and a summer hoodie ready for the indoor freezer moments. The 15″ Lipault plume holds my 15″ very snugly. I have a flat and wider case on my laptop, so I slide in the laptop first, then add the extra goods in the front compartment of the bag. There’s an additional zipper compartment on the outside front for misc skinny items, and a side compartment for the metro card.
As an editor, I still have to carry some other stuff, but on most days I’m good to go ~ hands free with this sturdy attractive piece.I like the bag so much that I now travel with it, with or without my laptop. About $180, and great for a hands free weekend too. Here’s where it’s been out and about with me recently…
