ANTONIO ORTEGA couture Paris
Shown during Paris Haute Couture, Antonio Ortega couture presents a vibrant + sultry collection- equipped with wild hair and electric blue eyeshadow. For his ss16 collection, Ortega unleashes a daring set of looks with an array of sequined patterns and colors.
Bowties and pencil skirts with slits aplenty are popped with blue tones. Slim corsets are tie-dyed with gold buttons held up by suspenders and complemented with a bow tie. Blazers with padded shoulders and low necklines are matched with slit pencil skirts.
Gold draped fabrics like shawls are lined with elegant crochet in white, inspired by Ortega’s grandmother. The material shows some skin and creates an air of beauty mixed with a slight sexiness. Ortega also often places a red color accent in each of his designs. Sometimes it’s in a purse, a tie around the waist or a lining in the material.
Accenting some of his pieces with graphic images, lit buildings and clouds included, Ortega expresses the stories of his childhood and the people he has met along the way. ANTONIO ORTEGA couture Paris selects + edits by Brigitte Segura, written by Shannon Smith.
