Alexis Mabille Haute Couture Spring 2014
Sometimes all you can really say about a line is ‘wow.’ That’s the immediate reaction when gazing at the Alexis Mabille Haute Couture Spring 2014 collection. With Greco-Roman influences that harken back to grape leaves and draping, there’s no doubt this designer’s muse is nothing short of a goddess. Gorgeous white satin, blue and shimmering gold are really something spectacular. The ethereal vibe is amplified with delicate white butterflies on the background and on the models’ faces. Quite transfixing.
The draping is immaculate here. A gold jacket shimmers like a sparkling glass of champagne under a sheer jumpsuit. As for the gowns, each comes with its own special detailing, from gorgeous cut-outs to shimmering sequins on bodices. Ruching is delicate on pieces that would be ideal for future blushing brides. One, especially, is pretty as a picture with gorgeous peplum. Cape trains are dramatic and show-stopping. Cinched waists have never looked better. This isn’t a set for the timid and plain…we’re talking outgoing, boisterous and elegant all in one.
If only every bride was lucky enough to wear one of these sparklers on their special day. To those who do, you’ll have everyone envious for years to come. You go, girl. fdmLOVES ALEXIS MABILLE Haute Couture Spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
