Acne Studios Spring 2014 PFW
Going back to their roots, the Acne Studios Spring 2014 collection feels oh-so Swedish in appearance and vibe. Designer Jonny Johansson toned it down, showing off what it means to dress simply and refined. The mixture of clean and relaxed cuts is refreshing. No need for crazy wild embellishments, here is a set that shows just what the Stockholm fashion scene is all about. Sleek, smooth, ‘less is more’ attitude.
There’s lots of emphasis on denim here, including ‘workwear’ sets that are pretty darn cute. Things aren’t oversized, in fact, many pieces fit like a glove. White leather has been grabbing a lot of attention as of late, and the looks here are too good. There’s a definite nautical undertone throughout this set with sailor-esque hats and big seafaring stripes. Plus, the large button details on peacoats seem mariner-ready. Many looks draw attention to the waist, as slouchy belts are often paired with trousers and shorts. A really fun touch.
As for the dark pieces, they feel just as relaxed as the silhouettes in white. A black suit ensemble, in particular, features adorable anchors throughout. Get ready to sail the ocean blue, sailor hats included. fdmLOVES ACNE STUDIOS Spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
