For Spring 2013 the German based label by designers Xenia and Betty got inspired with classical ballet, specifically Swan Lake. The accompanying campaign for the season titled URBAN VANITY features striking hair and make-up by Anna Obendiek as captured by photographer Nino Halm.
Luyu embodies spirited adornment, layered or wrapped scarves and shawls wow in vibrant shades grounded with black. With patterns an the panels of fine fabric, movement is directed with lines or stripe. We totally dig the richly colored blues.
The brand name is translated to mean “wild dove” in native American language, appropriately the label is represented by a recognizable dove logo. With a focus on expressionistic design and pride in workmanship the mission extends to fair trade production.
