a SPA HAVEN for city girls

Though the holiday rest did you some good,  has the new year work reality got you in a ‘B’ mood?  Time for a girl-friendly primp at the local chill haven.   Haven Spa, known for its luxury spa-wonders amongst downtown New Yorkers (including  Sarah Jessica Parker) just moved to a fresh new space near SoHo.  We checked out the modern urban hideaway, equipped with stars, flowers, and metallic DECO any NYC princess would appreciate.

from the editor: While scoping the extensive menu ranging from facials to hair services and body therapies, the “bitch massage” just jumped at me.  After a few sips from a flute of bubbly x a little cheese (my food staple), I was prepped for my massage.

I got to “check in” to a locker room equipped with showers + changed,  and went to the cutest little sparkled room while waiting about a half minute…

While I was getting the much needed “Soothing and relaxing for both body and mind” – i.e. bitch massage, I decided to get a mani – pedi while I was at it.  White robe et al, I went to the private waiting room again… with more bubbles + tea, some fancy beauty-inspired cookies + gluten free mini cupcakes.

For a girl that runs away from the local smelly nail salon,  it was indeed a treat to get the job done in a private no windows to the street environment.   Happy Happy – the european pedi included cuticle and sole care, scrub, massage, and polish.  The NYC friendly price was about $62 for the combo.  You running yet?

The spontaneous spa day continued, and after chillaxing for a couple of hours+ I realized I had to go to my editor events for the day soon.   So, I decided to get a quick wash + blowout… I felt so amazing after this urban retreat I didn’t even go home to change before my events.   But, truth be told, I did go to the wrong address at first… maybe the 30 minute xtra distraction of the day was exactly what I needed :). a SPA HAVEN for city girls written by Brigitte Segura.
