Louis Vuitton Spring 2014 PFW
What can we say, Marc Jacobs sure knows how to go out with a bang! For his final collection with Louis Vuitton, (he’s been with the house for 16 years) this designer brought out all the dramatics and presented an awe-inspiring dark set for Spring 2014. This is easily going to be one of the most memorable shows for this season. First of all, the girls are donning amazing black feathered headpieces that resemble the fountain water shooting out behind them. Kate Upton also rode a carousel horse. Seriously. Plus, the clothes are beyond. So very Marc with hints of high luxe that’s entirely LV. We’re sad to see him go, but this line will hold us over for a while.
First of all, it’s all black. And not only that, everything has that amazing ‘showgirl’ look and feel. From bedazzled 20s tank dresses to a nude bodysuit with ‘Louis Vuitton’ written all over it, this is truly a collection that encompasses the relationship with this designer and brand. Things are provocative but never tasteless. Instead, it makes us want to ditch all those springtime florals. Denim is surprisingly featured heavily here, as it accents glitzy beaded tops and short jackets. It’s even hidden under long sheer dresses. Leather jackets are rockin’ fabulous, especially with those fantastic headpieces designed by Stephen Jones. Such a show!
At the end of the show, models (including Kate) sat upon moving jet black carousel horses. Clad in beaded and feathered nude leggings, the girls closed it out on a skyrocketing high note. Not surprised a standing O was given, who else pulled out these kind of theatrics? Here’s to 16 great years! fdmLOVES LOUIS VUITTON Spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
