Louis Vuitton Resort 2014
Design Director Julie de Libran brings the Frenchwoman full force for Louis Vuitton Resort 2014. No life size trains or setting suns this season, as the collection centers on an iconic French lax look, modeled by Ondria Hardin. With the nautical stripes stretching across several pieces, the Vuitton gal shares her style overseas this time through functional fabrics for resort. The necklines remain rounded, while the v neck is reserved for the delectable dresses.
Earth tones with essences of jewel hues definitely catches our eye. A chocolate brown pantsuit with slashed sleeves receives a jolt of color with an apple red skinny belt and matching purse. The bold hue hops to a miniskirt that isn’t too racy thanks to the oversized jacquard top. While a two tone pantsuit, one side baby blue tweed and the other navy leather, brings the closet staple to the forefront of the wardrobe with its twist on tradition. The cooler blue palette ties the looks together, without overtaking the collection by letting us devour it piece by piece. From drama dresses with drop waists to popping pantsuits, denim steals the show for fabric. Complete with oversized pockets, the tops supply a strong boxy look by balancing it with lots of leg baring hemlines.
The hemlines are all over the body for Louis Vuitton resort, jumping from office ready A-lines to floor sweeping gowns. Moments of asymmetry with a yellow dress brings the flirtatious french girl forward, reminding us why Paris is the City of Love. Bringing it all together with a series of functional footwear, such as the tasseled loafers, clogs, and flat ankle boots, supplies an effortless sensibility that the LV woman is all about. fdmLOVES LOUIS VUITTON resort 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Mary Anderson.
