In accordance with his modus operandi, designer Alessandro Michele instituted the new wave intellectual at Gucci ss16 #MFW. A vintage vantage point cultivates a historically rich wardrobe. Taking the best of what’s been and re-envisioning it for modern appeal takes prowess. Salma Hayek, Alexa Chung, and Dakota Johnson braved the rain to experience the parade of retro chic.

Beyond the big rimmed geek glasses and well past the must have shoe, was a spectacular array of feminine fashions. Some of the trickery trickled down into the design details. For instance the ruffle neck blouses were not always what they seem, some were actually flat with contour lines giving a 3d illusion. An array of prints changed the game by differentiating the recipe to bring out a particular flavor. Plenty of moxie to go around, while leaving room for continuing the legacy as seen with the inclusion of the iconic brand’s team colors of red and green.
